An experience or event that changes someone can sometimes be very powerful. This was my experience as I lost an old friend of mine earlier this year. We both went to different high schools, but every day after school sophomore year, I would meet my friend Calvin at the gym.
Calvin worked his ass off in everything he did. When there was time to play, Calvin was working hard at the gym or elsewhere. He entered the Navy after graduation, and served until this winter. When I found out he died it was a hard time for me, and his wake was even harder.
A few months later my mom informed me that we are selling the house that I grew up in since I was born. At first I was upset, but I realized that everyone in my family was still alive. Even in these tough economic times, everyone still had their health. I hated losing Calvin, and I am thankful that everyone in my family is here. It taught me to appreciate what is really important in life.

Bad Music, Good Marketing
One social trend that never ceases to amaze me, is how these bad artists and Disney acts can rule the world just with good marketing. I mean, it makes sense in theory, but to the extent that it happens? Take Hannah Montana for example. They gave her a tv show, and a world tour, and now she is on top of the music industry. Can she sing? Not really, can she dance? Yes. Can she entertain? Obviously. This seems to be the trend in the music industry, entertainment value over talent. Seacrest out.

Web Designing
As I was getting ready to launch a new sister record label, I began to consult some web designers to build the new site. It is now clear to me how good a multimedia degree can be in this new age of internet.
Going rates for sites can range anywhere from $1000 to $25,000. This is also a very competitive business that thrives on the commodity known as the internet.
Also, buying up domain names can be lucrative as many people down the line may want a specific domain name. This makes buying them a worthy business.

Too Trooths and a lye
So, this is my personal introduction and "Two Truths and a Lie" portion of the blog. (Yes the title is a joke). I'm West, I love music, and I am a music business major.
Here are my two truths and a lie.
-I am a vegetarian
-I play guitar, drums, piano, and sing
-I have a large tattoo of a kettle on my back
